What you should know about HEARTWORMS: Heartworms are transmitted to dogs and cats by mosquitoes. Without the protection of a heartworm preventative, your pet could get heartworm disease. All dogs and cats are at risk for heartworm disease no matter where they live. Heartworms live in the hearts and lungs of an infected pet. If left untreated, heartworm disease can be fatal. Some common signs of heartworm infection in dogs include coughing, difficulty breathing, and lethargy; though, not all infected animals will show signs of disease. Heartworm disease is easy to prevent, but very hard to treat. Get your pet started on heartworm prevention today!

GUIDELINES
Vaccinations have saved the lives of millions of cats. Before the days of effective vaccines, cats routinely died from panleukopenia ("feline distemper") and complications of upper respiratory (herpesvirus, calicivirus) infections. Newer vaccines are available to protect against feline leukemia virus infection, feline infectious peritonitis virus and other infections (chlamydia, feline bordetella, ringworm).
